SAMPURA AMRIT KAUR

"You may not live to it; you may live to it. But it is the guiding force. And, it is a prayer. What is a prayer? It’s a calling. That’s it! And you answer the calling. You get uplifted."

Bio
My journey into the world of yoga began in 2008 when I walked into my first yoga class, driven by a desperate need to find relief for the chronic back pain caused by scoliosis and multiple injured discs in my spine. From the very start, yoga proved to be a transformative force in my life, challenging me to strengthen my body, deepen my breath, and quiet my restless mind.

Through consistent practice, I began to experience profound improvements in managing both the physical pain and emotional toll of my conditions. Fueled by my growing passion for yoga, I found myself inspired to share its benefits with others, firmly believing in its universal applicability and transformative power. I am dedicated to making yoga accessible to all, especially those facing physical limitations, health challenges, trauma, addiction, and the elderly.

My teaching style is characterized by clarity, precision, compassion, and sensitivity, creating a practice that is therapeutic and inclusive. Specializing in the healing aspects of yoga, I strive to help individuals maintain functionality, release tension, improve flexibility and strength, and find peace of mind. I take pride in my ability to modify postures and create safe, creative, and enjoyable sequences that make yoga accessible to virtually anyone seeking to integrate it into their wellness routine.

In my classes, I seamlessly integrate Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Meditation, viewing the breath as a precious diamond capable of cutting through life's stresses. I emphasize the profound connection between the mind and breath, teaching my students how to use their breath to induce relaxation, reduce anxiety, and sharpen focus. For me, mastering the breath is key to unlocking increased energy and a heightened sense of self-awareness.

Currently, I teach a diverse range of yoga styles, including Kundalini, Vinyasa, Yin, Chair, and Restorative Yoga at various locations in Volusia County. Additionally, I offer private classes tailored to individual needs, ensuring that everyone can comfortably embrace yoga under my guidance. It brings me great joy to witness the positive impact yoga can have on each person's journey towards wellness and self-discovery.

In August of 2022, I embarked on a transformative 24-month Yoga Therapy training program within the Kundalini Yoga tradition. After thorough research into various programs and their curriculums, I chose the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine and Humanology's offering due to its comprehensive scope and certification by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).

Throughout this intensive program, I not only acquired invaluable tools rooted in Kundalini Yoga to aid individuals in managing diverse health conditions and empowering them to take more control over their well-being, but I also embarked on a profound journey of personal growth and transformation. This journey enabled me to cultivate a deeper relationship with both myself and the world around me.

The curriculum of the training delved deeply into the therapeutic applications of Kundalini Yoga, equipping me with specialized knowledge and techniques to support individuals in reducing symptoms and fostering holistic healing. I gained a nuanced understanding of how yoga can be tailored to address specific health challenges, including physical ailments, mental health concerns, and emotional imbalances.

Moreover, the experiential aspect of the training facilitated my own inner exploration and growth. I discovered new layers of self-awareness and resilience, honing my ability to navigate life's challenges with grace and compassion. This personal evolution has not only enriched my professional practice but has also enhanced my overall well-being and outlook on life.

I am filled with gratitude to the Guru Ram Das Center for the profound impact their training has had on my life. I am eager to integrate this deepened knowledge and personal experience into my work, continuing to empower individuals on their paths to healing and self-discovery through the transformative power of yoga therapy

"Use the power of your name, Sampuran Amrit Kaur, to reveal your gift of easily receiving the nectar of God’s grace into your heart by understanding your own complete perfection. Meditate on the sweetness and affection of this sacred blessing with each breath. In this way those around you are joyfully elevated by your spirit’s total oneness with the Divine. Let the sound of your name lead you to the highest fulfillment of your soul."
Nirinjan Kaur, Director of Spiritual Names
Spiritual Name
Sampura Amrit Kaur
The sacred Princess/Lioness who receives the heartfelt nectar of God’s grace by realizing that she is perfect and complete.
Sampuran means perfect and complete. Amrit refers to the nectar of God's grace; the sweetness of God touching and opening one’s heart. Kaur - the Princess/Lioness of God who walks with grace and strength throughout her life.

The power of your spiritual name is that a spiritual name is a vibration. The more you speak and hear it, the more it permeates your being, opening you to the experience of its nadh (inner sound current). It helps you to elevate your energy consciously. It is your spiritual, soul identity. It is challenging you to live in your highest consciousness. Making the choice to receive a spiritual name is taking a step toward leaving old patterns behind and connecting more deeply with your infinite self. A spiritual name is not a nickname, trend, fad or fashion, but expresses your identity as a spiritual being.

“Our spiritual names become our tools – which daily touch our hearts, impact our words and delicately influence our actions – transforming us and releasing us from the insecurities of the past.”

— Nirinjan Kaur (Director of Spiritual Names)

The first role of the teacher is to be humble…the character, the courage, the grace, and the magnitude of a person is in practicing humility. One who cannot go under can never grow. The first power of the seed is to go under, and then grow.
